Scarlett Yang is a London based artist and designer. Known for her revolutionary approach to conscious design alongside her artistic body of work, Yang’s practice investigates evolution cycle of ‘hybrid matter’. Her work weaves the analog and digital to create 3D fabrications, laboratory data visualisations, simulated climate, and engineered materials. 

As a pioneer in ecological innovations, biomateriality and virtual materials, Yang brings forward a unique lens on new material developments and the supply chain, transcending the boundaries between art and research, design and technology. 

Cross referencing design systems, digital mediums and tactile experiences, her work across all media sets out to articulate complex ideas about how life cycles evolve. Her work has been exhibited at institutions and organisations in the UK and internationally including Christie’s, V&A Museum, London Design Biennale, Rolls Royce’s Muse Art Programme, Design Museum Den Bosch and Tropenmuseum. 

She has been recognized for her contribution to advancing sustainable design technologies and has won the LVMH Green Trail award, The Mills Sustainability award, YouFab Global Creative Award and the Dezeen award.
