This looping visual work explores the innovative possibilities of data of nature to interpret Studio Scarlett Yang’s research elements of ocean water hydrogel and 3D fabrication that adapt to changing climate.

From a distance, the digital visual looks like turbulent ocean waves iteratively splashing on human skin.

From a closer look, the detailed water-like fabric material weaves itself into an intricate second skin of ours.

Moving Image on loop

NOTE 0 reflects a unique collaboration between artistic mediums and science, as it was created by utilizing data and digital particles to simulate the journey of molecular scent perception. This interdisciplinary approach allowed us to visually represent the temporalities and complexities of an olfactory experience.

Site Specific Digital Experience

The project unfolds as a narrative spatial experience on a synthesis of digital representations and new material developments.

Hosted within Waag Society Amsterdam - once depicted by Rembrandt in 'The Anatomy Lesson by Professor Tulp' (1632), the work integrates advanced research in fabricated materials, bridging the gap between historical legacy and contemporary artistic practice.
