While exploring the themes of nature, humanity and technology, the sculptural showcases glimpses of the rugged seaside with a scientific twist.
Using Scarlett Yang’s expertise in engineering biomaterials, the piece consists in intertwined ribbons of synthetic biopolymer made from ocean particles and bound with a photosynthesised algae extract.
Paired with a short film and digital render the viewer is immersed in a futuristic landscape that stretches the imagination.
